Since 2004, Pinnergy has been utilizing electronic logging in its commercial motor vehicle fleet for DOT logs. Not only does electronic logging provide superb data for many metrics and logistics, it also eliminates the need for paper logs and thus, paper. This reduction of paper use has resulted in a significant reduction process usages and associated carbon impacts.
As we move into a new era where digital data is the norm, Pinnergy has adopted electronic field ticketing. If you thought the paper reduction from electronic logging was impressive, you’ll really take notice with electronic field tickets. With DOT paper logs, a single sheet of paper would be used each day per driver. With field tickets, they are used per job, accounting for an average of 10 tickets per driver, per day. To compound that, each field ticket has carbon copies in a set of three. When you crunch those numbers, you’ll see resource reduction in excess of 25 times greater than that of electronic DOT logging.
